Foundations in two faiths:
Why not leverage thousands of years of hard learned wisdom from both sides of the globe? Why not take the absolute best strategies for living well and apply them to your own life? Why not live a truly integrated life where your actions align with your beliefs. Why not choose to feel connected to others and the world around you?
The Binary is simplified belief system that combines the best of Christianity and Taoism. Christianity’s focus is on each person. We discard Christian teachings at our own peril. Losing the core teachings of Christianity would not only be disastrous for society as a whole, but personally as well.
Take the example of Christ. He had immense power. He literally had everything. Yet he surrendered it all, willingly. He gave it all up, not merely to show compassion for others, but to become compassion itself. He willingly suffered ridicule, and a terribly painful death to show others compassion is worth any cost. The connection we have with each other person to person is worth whatever suffering it takes to maintain it. He showed us our higher selves. If we choose to cast this truth aside, we lose ourselves. Unfortunately, in modern Christianity this core message of compassion, compassion for one’s self as well as others, is often overshadowed by dogma or doctrine.
Taoism’s focus on the moment is powerful, but dangerous without first having a foundational belief of compassion. However, together these two teachings show us the heights we can achieve as a person when we seek to raise others up. We merely have to let go of ourselves and our place in time. We must get out of our own way and get out of our own heads. We must allow ourselves the freedom to become who we were meant to be, so we can help others do the same. This is true compassion.
